Despite everything that's happened in the last three tumultuous weeks there has still been some amazing positive takeaways - not least The Lemon Twigs who came to town in the middle of last month. I'd had the tickets for a while but when the date finally came around I wasn't sure if I'd be in the right frame of mind to fully appreciate them.
I needn't have worried. I met briefly with the elder of the two D'Addario brothers, Brian, just as he was making his way to the band's dressing room and I knew from his reassuring handshake that this was going to be a great night. And so it came to pass. Ten years and six albums into their stratospheric career, this band are on fire. How do I know this? They were only on the front cover of the latest issue of Shindig! magazine currently residing on my kitchen table; that's how. That and the fact that their latest record Look For Your Mind is already a contender for Album of the Year.
It may sound a little trite to say that if they come to your town then please do drop everything and go and see them. But you really should.
