Although better known as Steptoe and Macca's grandfather (he's very clean), Wilfrid Brambell was also a recording artist in the 60s. This is from 1963 on the prestigious Parlophone label. He plays it with a straight bat and you get the impression he'd like to have done a few more.
I know shouldn't give the competition any promo - but Billy Reeves did an excellent podcast on Carry On stars as recording artists. Well worth a wallop look for Nostalgia of the Future on my blog list..ReplyDelete
still can't help picturing him having a bath in the sink with his hat on whilst listening!ReplyDelete
Like Piley above it is the bathing in the sink scene which forever sticks with me when I hear mention of Mr BrambellReplyDelete
